Undergraduates

Whether your major is political science or history, you bring a unique perspective to international development studies, and IDN wants to encourage your contributions to the field. If you are considering participating in one of Emory's study abroad programs, you have the opportunity to combine that experience with a research project, giving you the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience, as well as proposal writing skills.

The following are some of the examples of research projects conducted by past scholarship recipients:

  • Community Associations in Rural Mali
  • Tuberculosis in the Township of Khayelitsha, South Africa
  • The Effects of Emergency Humanitarian Assistance in Uganda
  • Urban Forms of Microlending in Cape Town, South Africa
  • Mental Health Concerns among Tibetan Refugees
