IDN-CIPA Scholarships
The IDN-CIPA Scholarship Program, jointly run by IDN and the Center for International Programs Abroad, allows undergraduate students to pursue development-related research interest in the context of a CIPA-approved study abroad program.
Applicants who submit a successful research proposal will receive up to $2,500 to support their semester abroad. Upon their return, students present their research at a conference jointly sponsored by Emory and The Carter Center.
Program Requirements
- Three semesters of college-level course work
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- One development-related course taken at Emory
- One area-specific course relevant to chosen study abroad program
- Return to campus for one semester
- Participation in a Carter Center Symposium
Application Process
Students must complete the IDN-CIPA Scholars Program Application, including an essay describing the research proposal in depth, as well as the relevant study abroad program application. A faculty recommendation also is required. These forms are available on the CIPA website at www.cipa.emory.edu.
