Mission

IDN's mission is to:

1. promote research that will lead to improvements in the lives of those living in poverty
2. foster related initiatives that will build capacity in developing countries
3. develop scholarship on and teaching about poverty and development in ways that emphasize local understandings of both problems and solutions
4. work toward re-imagining and then advocating implementation of development practice in ways that have not yet been anticipated
